Stretch marks are a form of scarring on the skin with a hue different from the neighbouring areas of the skin. They can be caused by the tearing of the dermis, which may diminish over time, but do not disappear completely. They can also be often the result of stretching of the skin associated with rapid weight changes. Stretch marks may also be influenced by hormonal changes associated with puberty, pregnancy, bodybuilding, hormone replacement therapy, etc.
Using Fractional CO2 laser technology, stretch marks can be gradually lightened. As with any procedure or treatment, results can vary by individual.
