In the quest to identify treatments suitable for your individual skin type and skin concerns, it’s normal to be overwhelmed by the increasing amount of treatments, techniques, and procedures that are available on the market currently. The benefits of this vast array of choices is that the individual can usually find a procedure or treatment that can treat their specific skin concerns. However, one disadvantage of having so many options available is that we are spoilt for choice! When it comes to treating wrinkles, fine lines, sagging skin, or just constantly dehydrated looking skin no matter what external creams or serums that you put on, there is definitely a huge market for treatments.
Profhilo skin treatments are one such option. It is a new advancement in hyaluronic acid technology that uses a stable mixed form of low and high molecular weight hyaluronic acid injected into the surface of the skin to provide hydration from the inside out. Skinboosters also utilise injections of hyaluronic acid (HA) into the skin to increase skin hydration, and to produce a plump, hydrated, and glowing look. Another type of treatment procedure that is often considered is something called Rejuran Healer treatment. Rejuran is also a form of injectable treatment into the skin; however, it uses a combination of hyaluronic acid and polynucleotides (PN) giving it different properties to Profhilo or Skinboosters.
Read on to find out more about the differences between Profhilo treatment, Skinboosters, and Rejuran Healer treatment!
What is Profhilo?
Profhilo treatment in Singapore is an injectable procedure. The syringe is filled with a stable form of high concentration hyaluronic acid (HA), among the highest in the market. The type of hyaluronic acid that is involved in this particular treatment is thermally cross-linked to generate a stable hybrid complex of high and low molecular-weight hyaluronic acid (H-HA and L-HA) which improves the viscosity and elasticity of the formulation. This also improves its resistance to degradation (the breaking down and elimination of the material over time).
Profhilo injectables contain 32mg of low molecular weight HA (80-100Kda) and 32mg of high molecular weight HA (1100-1400Kda). This creates a total hyaluronic acid amount of 64mg in a 2ml pre-filled syringe, as well as a high concentration of HA.

What are Skinboosters?
Skinboosters are similar to Profhilo injections in the sense that they also utilise hyaluronic acid and are also injected into the skin via multiple micro-injections (either manually from the syringe or using an injector gun) of pure hyaluronic acid to increase skin’s hydration levels. Individuals who are looking for extra skin hydration and radiance will benefit from Skin boosters in Singapore. The recommended course depends on the individual skin type.
Usually 3 sessions, each session about 2-4 weeks apart can produce results which improve over a period of time. A maintenance session every 6 months is recommended to maintain HA levels as it is naturally absorbed in the body over time. There are many injection points, hence downtime may be slightly longer depending on the individual skin condition!
What is Rejuran?
Rejuran is also an injectable procedure. The main difference is in the constituents of the injection contents. Rejuran consists of a combination of polynucleotides (PN) or polydeoxyribonucleotides (PDRN), hyaluronic acid, and amino acids. These molecules form long chains that are known as DNA. An interesting aspect of Rejuran Healer treatments is that it is derived from salmon that has been processed for medical aesthetic purposes!
The reason why salmon DNA was chosen was because scientists found that it is able to accelerate the repairation processes of the skin cells to help improve the skin barrier, collagen regeneration and wound healing to help with skin appearances. This also means that vegans or vegetarians, or anyone who allergic to salmon or is extra sensitive to seafood may want to avoid this particular treatment. Rejuran injectables come in 2ml syringes, just like Profhilo treatments, and 1 to 3 syringes may be needed depending on the areas that are being treated (if it’s just the facial region, or including the face and neck).
Similarities and Differences Between Profhilo, Rejuran and Skinboosters
One common benefit of Profhilo, Rejuran, and Skinboosters is that they are all non-surgical, meaning that they don’t require any cuts in the skin or opening of skin tissue. They can produce results on their own, or can be combined with other aesthetic procedures for more enhanced results.
Let’s look at their features objectively. This is a table of their different features.
