Cheek & Forehead Treatments Singapore | Fillers, Fat Grafting, Lifting & More

Natural Looking Cheek and Forehead Rejuvenation Treatments

The cheeks and forehead are two of the most structurally significant zones of the face. Well-defined cheekbones and naturally full midface volume, often described as “apple cheeks,” signal youth, health, and facial harmony. A smooth, proportionate forehead frames the upper face and gives the overall appearance balance.

As volume depletes and skin laxity develops with age, these key structural areas flatten and form lines, deepening nasolabial folds, hollowing the under-eye area, and creating horizontal forehead lines. In some patients, the brow also begins to droop. Both areas are highly treatable with the right combination of volume restoration and lifting, and the goal is always a result that looks natural, not overdone.

At SL Aesthetic Clinic, our doctors treat cheek and forehead volume loss by assessing your midface volume, facial proportions, and degree of laxity before recommending any treatment.

What Changes Happen to the Cheeks and Forehead With Age?

The cheeks and forehead age through a predictable combination of structural and surface-level changes:

Midface volume loss: The cheeks slowly lose their fullness from the late 20s, flattening, deepening the folds around the mouth, and hollowing the undereye into that characteristic tired look.

Cheekbone prominence: Full fat pads give cheekbones their lifted appearance. As they deplete, the cheekbones look exposed rather than defined.

Bony resorption: The facial skeleton itself shrinks with age, losing the structural scaffold soft tissues depend on.

Forehead lines and brow descent: Repeated muscle contractions etch lines permanently into the forehead. The brows descend too, adding to an overall heaviness.

Skin laxity: Collagen and elastin decline from the mid-20s, thinning and loosening the skin. Combined with volume loss, the effect is greater than either cause alone.

What Are Apple Cheeks and How Are They Achieved Clinically?

“Apple cheeks” refers to the full, rounded, slightly raised convexity of the midface, the area that rises when you smile, which is characteristic of a youthful, healthy face. In aesthetic medicine, this appearance is achieved by restoring volume to the cheeks and the area just below the cheekbones, creating a lifted, convex contour that catches light and gives the face its characteristic glow and vitality.

Apple cheeks can be created or restored through several approaches, depending on what is driving their absence: hyaluronic acid cheek fillers for patients with soft tissue volume loss, facial fat grafting for patients wanting a longer-lasting or more significant volume restoration, or collagen-stimulating and lifting treatments for patients whose primary issue is skin laxity rather than volume depletion. Many patients benefit from a combination.

Our doctors at SL Aesthetic Clinic place treatments to restore natural midface fullness and recreate the rounded convexity characteristic of youthful apple cheeks.

Our Cheek & Forehead Treatments at SL Aesthetic Clinic

Each treatment addresses a different aspect of cheek and forehead appearance. Our doctor will recommend the right option or combination based on your facial anatomy, degree of volume loss, and skin laxity.

Cheek Fillers

Cheek fillers restore lost volume to the midface using hyaluronic acid, a substance your body naturally produces. At SL Aesthetic Clinic, our cheek filler of choice comes with hylacross and vycross technology to emphasise long lasting plumpness without lumps.

Forehead Fillers

Forehead fillers use hyaluronic acid to smooth out flatness and irregularities along the forehead, restoring a more balanced, harmonious profile. This includes the temples, an often overlooked area where hollowing can have a surprisingly ageing effect on the overall face.

Facial Fat Grafting

Facial fat grafting restores lost volume using your body's own fat, creating a fuller, more balanced appearance. Because the results use your own natural tissue, the outcome feels and looks entirely natural, making it a compelling option for those seeking long-lasting facial rejuvenation.

Sofwave™ 索夫波

Sofwave™ (索夫波) uses advanced ultrasound technology to stimulate collagen and elastin production deep within the skin, helping to firm and tighten the cheeks and forehead from within. It is a comfortable, no-downtime treatment well suited to anyone looking to maintain skin firmness and stay ahead of early signs of sagging.

Ultherapy Prime 美版超声刀

Ultherapy Prime (美版超声刀) delivers focused ultrasound energy to the deeper structural layers of the face, the same layers addressed in surgical lifting, to lift and tighten the cheeks, brow, and forehead without surgery. It is the go-to non-surgical option for those experiencing more noticeable laxity in the midface and upper face.

Ultraformer MPT 钢筋索超声刀

The Ultraformer MPT (钢筋索超声刀) combines surface skin tightening with deeper structural lifting in a single treatment, making it an efficient option for those who want to address cheek and forehead laxity together. It is particularly well suited to patients looking for comprehensive facial lifting in one session.

VectorLift

VectorLift is a targeted upper face lifting treatment designed for the brow, eyelids, and forehead. Rather than a general approach, it delivers a focused, directional lift, ideal for patients who feel their brows sit too low or their eyes look heavier or more tired than they would like.

XERF

XERF is a dual-frequency radiofrequency treatment from Korea that stimulates collagen production to firm and tighten the skin. For the cheeks and forehead, this translates into a gradual improvement in skin laxity, helping to address loose cheeks, jowling, and fine lines without any downtime. It is suited to those looking for a non-invasive option to maintain skin firmness over a course of sessions.

FAQ

There are several effective options for addressing flat or sunken cheeks, and the right approach depends on whether the cause is volume loss, skin laxity, or both. Cheek fillers are commonly used to restore volume, while facial fat grafting offers a longer-term solution using your own tissue. For skin laxity, lifting treatments such as Ultherapy Prime or Ultraformer MPT may be more suitable. Our doctors will assess your specific concerns at a consultation and recommend the most appropriate treatment or combination for you.

Cheek fillers typically last 12 to 18 months. The cheeks are a relatively low-movement area compared to the lips, which means filler breakdown is slower. With repeated treatment cycles, some patients find they need progressively less filler as the collagen stimulation effect of repeated injections builds a degree of natural volume over time.

Both restore midface volume, but through different mechanisms with different longevity and recovery profiles. Cheek fillers use injected hyaluronic acid that is gradually metabolised by the body over 12 to 18 months; they are temporary, reversible, and adjustable with no surgical recovery.

Facial fat grafting uses your own fat cells, providing a more natural tissue feel, and once the initial resorption stabilises, long-lasting results without ongoing retreatment. Fat grafting involves more downtime (3 to 7 days) and a longer period to see final results (4 to 6 weeks). The right choice depends on the degree of volume restoration needed.

Yes, cheek fillers and forehead fillers are commonly performed in the same session, as are combinations of fillers with lifting devices. The exception is that certain combinations require careful sequencing, for example, Ultherapy Prime is generally performed at a separate session from fillers to avoid the ultrasound energy displacing newly placed product. Our doctors will advise on the appropriate combination and session scheduling at the consultation.

This is the most common concern patients raise, and the answer depends entirely on technique, volume, and placement. Overcorrection or filler placed in the wrong anatomical plane produces the puffy, overdone result patients want to avoid.

Conservative filler placement targeting the correct anatomical compartments, restoring lift rather than simply adding bulk, produces a natural, refreshed result that improves with the right light rather than looking artificial in any light. At SL Aesthetic Clinic, our doctors work within your facial proportions and prefer to under-correct initially, allowing for adjustment in subsequent sessions.

Cheek fillers involve minimal downtime, mild swelling, and possible bruising for 2 to 5 days, with most patients resuming normal activities the following day. Bruising is more common in patients on blood-thinning medications or supplements (including fish oil, vitamin E, and aspirin). Your doctor will advise on any pre-treatment precautions. Final results are visible once swelling fully resolves at 1 to 2 weeks.
