You may feel a warm, prickling sensation as the ultrasound energy or occasional short ‘zaps of heat. Comfort levels vary from person to person, but the sensation only lasts while the energy of the ultrasound is delivered.

Ultherapy PRIME® is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that uses intense ultrasound to promote the formation of new collagen deep below the surface of the skin. The production of new collagen takes time, so results become more obvious over two to three months, or even up to six months.

The treatment takes between 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the area being treated and there is minimal to no downtime afterwards. It also uses ultrasound imaging that allows doctors to actually see the targeted tissue layers during treatment and to ensure that the energy is deposited precisely where it is most beneficial.

Ultherapy PRIME® treats the deep foundational layer (superficial musculoaponeurotic system, also known as “SMAS”) addressed in cosmetic surgery, but does not duplicate the results of a surgical facelift. 

However, Ultherapy PRIME® may also be used as an alternative treatment of choice, especially for those not ready for surgery or for patients seeking to prolong the effects of cosmetic surgery.

Results typically become noticeable two to three months after the procedure, as the collagen production process takes time. When you stop treatments, you will not look more saggy than before. In fact, you will look better than someone of the same age who has not done any treatments.
