FAQ
What Is RF Thermalift FLX?
RF Thermalift FLX is a non-invasive, non-surgical skin tightening treatment that uses monopolar capacitively coupled radiofrequency (RF) energy to penetrate into the dermis and subcutaneous tissues. It is in these layers where collagen is stimulated, resulting in the tightening of the skin.
RF Thermalift FLX is able to treat superficial skin concerns – wrinkles, pores, texture, dimples.
RF Thermalift FLX can be used to tighten skin and smoothen out wrinkles on :
- Face, including eyelids
- Neck
- Hands
- Thighs
- And others
Is RF Thermalift FLX Safe?
RF Thermalift FLX is FDA approved and is a safe and effective procedure when performed by a trained professional. Speak to our doctor to know more.
What Can I Expect From RF Thermalift FLX?
Depending on your skin condition, most patients see tighter skin, improved skin texture and tighter, firmer skin. Wrinkles are also smoothened, and delicate eyelid skin is strengthened for a more well-rested appearance.
After a RF Thermalift FLX treatment, your skin may feel taut and smooth to the touch. Additional tightening and smoothing may occur over 3 to 6 months.
How Long Is One Treatment Of RF Thermalift FLX?
After assessing your needs, the doctor can perform the treatment in approximately an hour for a treatment of the face (longer for the body), subject to the doctor’s schedule. Otherwise, a later appointment can be made for the procedure itself.
How Long Do The RF Thermalift FLX Results Last?
RF Thermalift FLX results can last up to two years. Results vary by the individual and lifestyle choices.
When Is It Too Early To Start RF Thermalift FLX (Or Any Other Anti-Ageing Treatments)?
Is There Any Downtime With RF Thermalift FLX?
Because it is non-invasive, downtime is minimised with RF Thermalift FLX. You are free to return to daily activities immediately after treatment. Makeup can be applied immediately after the treatment session.
Some redness can be seen in patients after treatment, and generally disappears within several hours. Blisters, though rare, may appear after the procedure. Occasionally, mild swelling may be noticed after the treatment but resolves in two or three days.
As with all treatments, downtime varies by the individual.
Who's Suitable For RF Thermalift FLX?
RF Thermalift FLX is suitable for patients desiring a non-invasive method to improve their sagging or ageing skin. The procedure is suitable for all skin types, and for both men and women. As with all medical procedures, you should be sure to disclose all of your medical history and current habits such as smoking and use of blood-thinners, medications, birth control pills, or supplements.
Who's Unsuitable For RF Thermalift FLX?
RF Thermalift FLX may be unsuitable in the following circumstances:
- Patients with unrealistic expectations, such as those who seek to reverse skin ageing and return to their younger self
- Patients using a cardiac pacemaker or other active implants
- People that are hypersensitive to heat
- Overly sensitive skin conditions such as eczema
- Recent chemical peel or dermabrasion
- Pregnant women
What Are The Pre & Post-Care Instructions For RF Thermalift FLX?
Pre-care: Ensure that you’re in a good state of health and not recovering from a bacterial or viral infection. Please ensure that you’re well hydrated before the procedure.
Post-care: Avoid the consumption of alcohol, swimming, strenuous exercise and going to a sauna for a day.
Will My Skin Become Saggier If I Stop RF Thermalift FLX?
No, stopping treatment will not make your skin look worse or sag faster than before.
While ageing, gravity, and UV exposure will naturally cause skin to sag over time, making skin tightening treatments part of your routine simply slows this process. If you decide to stop, your skin will still look better and firmer than someone your age who hasn’t done any collagen-stimulating treatments, thanks to the extra collagen and elastin built up during your sessions.
Can I Get A Facial After RF Thermalift FLX?
Following your RF Thermalift FLX procedure, you can do a basic facial 2 weeks after. For facials that involve machines (e.g. I2PL, M22), we recommend waiting 4 weeks.
How Many RF Thermalift FLX Sessions Are Needed?
Most patients require only one session to see visible skin tightening results.
Unlike other energy-based procedures that require multiple treatments, RF Thermalift FLX delivers sufficient radiofrequency energy in a single sitting to trigger deep collagen renewal. Initial improvements appear within a few weeks, with full tightening and contouring results continuing to develop over 6 months.
To maintain these results against the natural ageing process, patients typically schedule a single maintenance session every 12 to 18 months.
Can RF Thermalift FLX Treat the Neck?
Yes, RF Thermalift FLX is commonly used to treat loose skin and wrinkles on the neck.
Because the skin on the neck is naturally thin and prone to losing elasticity early, monopolar radiofrequency is ideal for firming this area without surgery.
